Safety planning
- Do you have the important documents you need before leaving?
- SSN cards, drivers’s licenses, passport, birth certificates, visa, etc…
- Car title in both names, your name, or perpetrator only.
- Is that your pet, or theirs? They find the pet, they find you!
- Do you have a protective order. (Any acts of violence against you)
- Do you have a protection order for the vehicle or animal?
- Do you have enough finances or money to travel with?
- Get a hotel off the grid, don’t stay where you normally would
- Do you have a strong nonjudgmental support system
- Nothing you did cause them to lash out at you, they made that decision.
